Fry’s Official Coupon Policy Update for Sierra Vista, Case Grande, Yuma, and Greater Tucson

I told you last night of the announcement in an AZ paper, but I just received email confirmation from Fry’s that they are indeed changing the coupon policy for select parts of Arizona.

“As some of you are aware, we will be discontinuing this promotion in our Sierra Vista, Casa Grande, Yuma, and Greater Tucson area stores on September 14.”

The resources previously used for doubling coupons will now be invested in other pricing promotions so we can provide the savings you and your readers count on. Here are a few highlights:

The cost savings from not making coupons up to $1 will be used to lower prices in our stores. We will also be investing in a promotion that gives double fuel points on participating items

Savings from digital coupons will be the same or even greater than paper coupons, which is also made possible by these cost savings

Fry’s will continue to accept manufacturer coupons at face value as well as Catalina, Print-at-Home, and electronic coupons to help maximize your savings

At this time, this pilot program will only be held in our Sierra Vista, Casa Grande, Yuma and Greater Tucson area stores

They will be updating their Facebook page with the official coupon policies soon, although they have posted an Announcement there as well.

Fry’s Ending Coupons = $1 In Tucson Area

For those of you in Arizona, I have some shocking news regarding Fry’s coupon policy.

Fry’s announced in the Arizona Daily Star that they will be ending the “promotion of all manufacturer coupons equal $1 in the Sierra Vista, Yuma, Casa Grande and greater Tucson area Fry’s Stores beginning Wednesday, September 14”

They also stated that these stores will “continue to accept manufacturer coupons at face value”, so I read that to mean that they will NOT be doubling coupons either.

You can visit the Fry’s Facebook page to see pictures of this ad from other shoppers. Understandably, there are some pretty unhappy shoppers voicing their opinion there as well. I have to say, I am not happy to hear this news and hope this isn’t permanent. And I do think that this is an unfortunate consequence of the TLC Extreme Couponing show.

So, tell me, what do YOU think? Will you continue to shop at Fry’s?

Note: I’m sorry I didn’t get this information to you earlier, but given that it is Sunday (and my birthday), I’ve been offline much of the day. Plus, Fry’s did not inform me of this change, as in the past when updates were made to the coupon policy.

A new Fresh & Easy coupon is available for $6 off a $30 purchase. My local Fresh & Easy now carries organic chicken and beef (I’m so excited), and it is a good price, too, so with these coupons, I can now save on organic meat. Also, I found out that you can actually use 2 coupons in a transaction.
