When Halloween is over and it is time put the pumpkins away, you might find yourself feeling a tad sad at the thought of throwing them out. After all, you paid good money for them. And perhaps they are even still in good shape. Well don’t toss them then, repurpose them instead. Did you know there are plenty of ways to use pumpkins aside from just pumpkin pie. 1.Create a pumpkin planter.
Simply carve out the inside of a pumpkin, insert a vase or large glass, then add flowers of your choice. Mums are actually perfect for this since they have long stems and are the perfect fall colors. Then, you can display on your table as a lovely fall centerpiece.

2. Make pumpkin stock.
Pumpkin stock is perfect for all sorts of soups and stews. To make it, just separate the seeds from the guts. Place the guts in a pot with water and boil. Then add chopped vegetable pieces, such as celery, potatoes, and carrots for flavor. Boil the mixture for 30 minutes and strain. That’s it! Pretty easy!

3. Make DIY spa treats.

Pumpkin is nutrient rich, and especially rich in zinc and vitamins A, C and E. Make your own face mask when you puree chopped pumpkin, brown sugar, and a tad of honey. Apply it to your skin and massage in a circular motion. Rinse and feel how smooth your skin becomes! You will notice an instant glow.

4. Feed the wildlife.
Toss your pumpkin out into your yard for the wildlife to enjoy. Birds will love the seeds and deer and squirrel will love the fleshy parts of the pumpkin. They will need these nutrients come winter, so give them a head start now. They are sure to love you for it.

5. Make nutrient rich dog treats.
Add some pumpkin to your blender and whip it into a puree. Then, place it in ice cube trays and freeze. Your dogs will love the cool and savory flavor, plus they will benefit from all of the vitamins it has to offer. Pretty cool, huh?

6. Make a cool and creamy pumpkin shake.
Add some puréed pumpkin to a few scoops of vanilla ice cream and blend well. You will have a pumpkin flavored shake your kids will love. You can also add nutmeg and cinnamon for an extra kick of flavor if you wish. Tasty!

Tip: If you need an extra kick, add some coffee for a yummy pumpkin coffee drink!

7. Donate to the zoo.
Large animals such as tigers and lions love playing with pumpkins and eating the tasty insides. Donate your pumpkins to your local zoo or animal sanctuary so they animals there can enjoy this experience. They will be able to take them off your hands.
