I love using my slow cooker all times of year, but especially in the summer because I can make a meal for my family without heating up the kitchen. Don’t get me wrong, my slow cooker gets plenty of use in the winter months, too (who can resist a hearty chili, Hot Chocolate, or Potato and Ham Soup)! But when we are sitting at over 100 degree weather here in Phoenix, I don’t want any extra heat!

Plus, I also love how simple it is to use my slow cooker – throw ingredients in and forget about it! I just made this Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce last week and it is perfect to feed my family with leftovers for another meal.

If you are new to using a slow cooker or just want to make sure you are using it as efficiently as possible, you’ll want to check out this Slow Cooker and Hacks. One of my favorite tips is to line the slow cooker insert with aluminum foil. This tip will help with the clean up process after the meal!

Here’s a few more recipe ideas:

Crock Pot Beans (with Bacon)
