Crock Pot Spaghetti Sauce

During the hot summer months, I try not to use my oven or stove much to keep the kitchen cool, so I turn to slow cooker recipes. Not only do they keep the house cooler, they are also great to make on busy days since you just need to put everything in the slow cooker, turn it on, and forget it! Check out this Crock Pot Spaghetti Sauce for an easy family night dinner.

I choose a mild Italian sausage since my kids don’t like the sauce too spicy, but you can choose whatever spice works for your family.

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 lb Italian Sausage
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 cup minced Onion
  • 1 tbsp minced Garlic
  • 8 oz Mini Sweet Peppers (stems and seeds removed)
  • 45 oz Diced Tomatoes, drained
  • 24 oz Tomato Sauce
  • 2 Bay Leaves
  • 1 tsp Oregano
  • 2 tsp Basil
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Crock Pot Spaghetti Sauce 2Directions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium.
  2. Crumble and brown ground beef and sausage, along with onion and garlic.
  3. Drain excess fat.
  4. Place meat mixture into slow cooker.
  5. Add remaining ingredients.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
