Frozen grapes

Now that school is back in session, I wanted to give my kids a healthy and cool snack for when they come home. Frozen grapes are so easy to make and can be so refreshing! My kids love to snack on them while they are working on their homework (and I sneak a few, too!). When frozen, grapes take on the texture similar to sorbet, so it is a wonderful little treat.

Grapes are in season right now so there are some great deals. I always recommend buying what is in season and on sale. The nice part about freezing them, is that you can buy them when they are on sale, and then eat them whenever you want.

For those of us in Arizona, green grapes are on sale this week for just $.75 in Albertsons’ Anniversary Sale. Head over and stock up on that low price. 

How to Make Frozen Grapes

This is a super simple recipe (not really a recipe, more of tips).

Ingredients:

  • 1 large bunch of seedless grapes (green or red – whichever you prefer)

Directions:

  1. Wash grapes and pat dry with a paper towel.
  2. Lay grapes on a baking sheet, piece of wax paper, a resealable container or just a plate.
  3. Optional: You can sprinkle your grapes with extra sugar if you want them extra sweet.
  4. Place the grapes in the freezer for at least 4 hours. I put mine in the freezer over night and they were perfect the next morning and afternoon.
  5. Take them out of the freezer and enjoy!

You can try adding them to fruit salad, yogurt or pudding for additional flavor. I recommend trying both green and red grapes and seeing which you prefer best.
