Fruit Veggie Wash

I’m happy that my kids love fresh fruit and veggies, especially when they can help pick it out at the store. I try to buy organic fruit and veggies as much as possible, but regardless of what I’m buying I always wash my produce before eating it.

If you are looking for an easy and effective DIY Non-Toxic Fruit and Veggie Wash, you don’t want to miss this simple recipe.

What You Need:

  • 12-14 oz spray bottle (You’ll want to get a glass or stainless steel spray bottle since citrus oils can eat through plastic.)
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1/4 cup white distilled vinegar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 5-7 drops Lemon, Lime or Orange essential oil

To Make:

  1. Put 1 tsp. of salt in a small bowl
  2. Add 5-7 drops of lemon, lime, or orange essential oil.
  3. Add the oil mixture to the spray bottle.
  4. Shake each time before spraying.
I absolutely love orange essential oil. I diffuse it by itself (it smells like a orangesicle!) or with Thieves Essential Oil Blend to keep the house smelling fresh and disinfected.  Next time, I may try lemon and lime mixed together!
What will you try?
