This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Dollar General. All opinions are 100% mine.

I think July is the hardest month – it is HOT – and it is right in the middle of summer vacation, so many summer camps or lessons are done or finishing, kids are left wondering what to do with themselves. It just seems like such a long month, so I really try to plan some things that will help us all have fun, stay busy and not be bored. I had no idea that July is Anti-Boredom month – did you?

I stopped by Dollar General last week to pick up a few snacks for an upcoming day trip, but I also wanted to check out what kind of summer savings I could find. I like shopping Dollar General because not only will you find great deals, but you can also use manufacturer coupons to save even more.

After grabbing some snacks and drinks, I headed over to the toy aisle and found plenty of $1 items that will be perfect for our car trip! Coloring books, dolls, bubbles, a doctor’s kit, and more. They also had travel family games. My kids LOVE Hungry Hungry Hippos so I grabbed that one and also the Yahtzee for the whole family. These are good for car trips, taking to Grandma’s house, or just playing around the house.

I also noticed that they have many back to school items on sale already – those are great to stock up on for the Fall, but also just for craft projects as you finish up the summer. It is amazing how much fun kids can have with just construction paper and crayons!

You don’t have to spend a ton to keep your kids entertained this summer. Stop by your local Dollar General and find deals to make you and your family happy! You can also stay up to date on promotions by following on Twitter (@DollarGeneral) and liking Dollar General on Facebook.
