nasal support2

Every time my husband does yard work, he is miserable the next day – and that is even if you takes medicine before, during and after. When I heard that he could find nasal suppport with essential oils, I knew I had to try it since they have been helping me in some many other ways! He has been a bit more skeptical of all my essential oil remedies, but after trying this recipe, he is a believer!

A few weeks back after mowing the lawn, he was miserable. I had him take this Nasal Support with essential oils internally. Most essential oils cannot be taken internally, and I only recommend that you use this method with Young Living essential oils because of their high standards from Seed to Seal. Here is what he took:

Nasal Support with Essential Oils (internally)

  • 2 drops of Lemon essential oil
  • 2 drops of Lavender essential oil
  • 2 drops of Peppermint essential oil
  • teaspoon of honey

He immediately felt like he could breath and no longer felt “icky” symptoms. He took this recipe again 4 hours later when his sinuses were starting to bother him again, but the next day he didn’t need any more. The only downside to this method was that it was “strong,” he asked me to get the capsules for the next time he needed relief. You can order capsules from Young Living or Amazon (which I found was cheaper).

My son also deals with allergies and unfortunately, when they start to bother him, his nose will run and he gets wheezy. He has been getting breathing treatments off and on since he was only a few months old.

After having success with my husband’s nasal support remedy, I wanted to see if this same method could help my son as well. I knew he wouldn’t like the taste of the oils, so I decided to apply them topically to him. I rubbed olive oil on his feet first (as a carrier oil) since he has sensitive skin, then applied the Lemon, Lavender, and Peppermint essential oils on his feet.

Nasal Support with Essential Oils (Topically)

  • 2 drops of Lemon essential oil
  • 2 drops of Lavender essential oil
  • 2 drops of Peppermint essential oil
  • carrier oil (olive, coconut, etc) optional

After about 5 minutes, I put socks on his feet and got him ready for the rest of the day. His nose completely dried up!

A few days later he was a little wheezy and I applied the oils to his feet again. His wheeziness stopped before we even left the house for VBS!  Now, when I know he is going to be about anything that may make his allergies flare up, I just apply the oils on his feet before he leaves the house.

A few things I want to mention:

  • I don’t recommend that you ingest any essential oils but Young Living. They offer therapeutic grade essential oils that do not have any added chemicals.
  • I’m not a doctor, so of course talk to your doctor before trying any new change or support.
  • All of the essential oils in this Nasal Support recipe are available in the  Premium Starter Kit.

I’m finding new uses for my essential oils in the kit every day, like:

Supporting Immune System

Relieving Sore Muscles

Moisturizing Skin

DIY All Natural Mosquito Spray
