DIY Non-Toxic Mosquito Spray

Mosquitos are such a pain, but I really don’t like all the chemicals that are in bug spray, so when I found some DIY Mosquito Spray options I was excited!  I’ve been finding more and more uses for my essential oils since I bought the Young Living Starter Kit, and this is one that I’m so thankful for.

My son and I both seem to attract mosquitos, even when no one else is getting bit! If you have the same problem then you will appreciate these DIY Non-Toxic Mosquito Spray recipes as well.  I don’t have all the oils for the “blue” recipe yet, but all the oils in the “yellow” and “pink” recipes above are included in the Young Living Starter Kit, so I am able to make those.

I prefer Witch Hazel rather than the Vodka, but use whatever you have or prefer. I really like the smell of peppermint – it is so refreshing, so my first choice Mosquito repellant spray is:

DIY Mosquito Spray

  • 20 drops Purification (optional)
  • 10 drops Lavender (optional)
  • 10 drops Peppermint (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp. Vegetable Glycerin
  • 3 oz Witch Hazel
  • 4 oz distilled water

I love that this spray is non toxic, so I don’t have to worry about putting harsh chemicals on my kids! If you don’t already have essential oils, I highly recommend that you look into them. I’m finding new uses for them every day, like:

Relieving Sore Muscles

Moisturizing Skin
