tide collage 2I mentioned earlier this week that I was given some samples of Tide to try out. I was really looking forward to trying the new Tide plus Febreze Freshness SPORT since both of my boys are playing sports (baseball and t-ball) this month. Not only did I need something that would get tough stains out, but I wanted it to get those tough smells out, too!

I’m not sure why sports teams think it is a good idea to put boys in white pants – especially in baseball – but this  year, that is what my oldest is wearing. I bought him new white pants that he wore to his first practice, and of course they came home with dirt and grass stains. I tossed them in the wash with a load of clothes, including a pair of jeans with grass stains from over a week old. I was worried that they wouldn’t come out since it had been a while – but I ended up being pleasantly surprised.

The Tide plus Febreze Freshness SPORT got the stains out (as you can see) and made my son’s clothes smell fresh. I scent isn’t too overpowering either, just light enough to smell good.

I also used Tide plus Downy with my daughter’s special “night time blanket”. It made it smell clean and stay super soft.

Finally, I planned to try the Tide Ultra Stain Release on some of my kids clothes, but the day after I received these samples, I’m embarrassed to say that I dropped my foundation bottle right on my shirt while I was getting ready. It wasn’t a huge make up stain, but I was devastated because this was not a cheap shirt and I had only worn it once.

As you can see from these pictures, I pre-treated the stain with Tide for about 5 minutes before putting it in the wash. I also used cold water because I didn’t want the hot water to set in the stain (in case it didn’t come out). But as you can see above, the stain is gone! I was able to wear my shirt again – and my lesson is to wait until AFTER my make up is done to put my nice shirt on. :)

So, I guess the answer is yes – Tide can handle this family of 5, even when the unexpected happens.
