Wedge Salad with Homemade Blue Cheese Dressing

wedge saladYou know that fancy salad you can get at the restaurant called The Wedge – it is so simple and yet so wonderfully delicious. If you aren’t a fan of blue cheese then you probably won’t know this one – but if you are, then you know how great it is!  This salad is  my husband’s favorite and as I was planning our “Date Night In” – I wanted to find items that were restaurant quality, but easy enough to make at home. I can’t wait to surprise my husband with this Wedge Salad with Homemade Blue Cheese Dressing!

Wedge Salad

What You’ll Need (Yield 4 salads)

SALAD:

  • 1 head Iceberg Lettuce
  • Cherry Tomatoes
  • Crispy Bacon
  • Croutons
  • Crumbled Blue Cheese

DRESSING:

  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Buttermilk
  • 1/4 Sour Cream
  • dash Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/4 cup crumbled Blue Cheese
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

And here is how to make this wonderful salad (in a printable version):

Wedge Salad with Homemade Blue Cheese Dressing
 
Ingredients
  • 1 head Iceberg Lettuce
  • Cherry Tomatoes
  • Crispy Bacon
  • Croutons
  • Crumbled Blue Cheese
  • ½ cup Mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup Buttermilk
  • ¼ Sour Cream
  • dash Worcestershire Sauce
  • ¼ cup crumbled Blue Cheese
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
Instructions
  1. Combine mayonnaise, buttermilk, sour cream and Worcestershire Sauce in a bowl, mixing well.
  2. Add in blue cheese.
  3. Salt and Pepper to taste.
  4. Wash and core lettuce.
  5. Cut into quarters.
  6. Pour dressing over each wedge.
  7. Sprinkle bacon, croutons and crumbled blue cheese over wedge.
  8. Dice some tomatoes to top each wedge and slice several to garnish plates.
