Find Back to School Clothes for Less:
1. Look for hand me downs.
Talk to the parents of children older than yours. Chances are they have clothing items their child no longer fits. Ask if you can purchase it at a discount, or perhaps they would even be willing just to pass it on to you. It never hurts to ask!
2. Attend clothing swaps.
Back to school time brings clothing swaps to many areas. Check your paper or local events board to see if any kid’s clothing swaps are happening in your area. Then, dig out your old children’s clothing items and get ready to do some trading. Can’t find one in your area? Start your own!
Tip: If your child wears uniforms, ask the school if they have a uniform swap scheduled. This is a great way to get rid of clothes your kid has outgrown and get the items you need for less.
3. Check out eBay.
Good deals are still to be found on eBay. Look for clothing lots in your child’s size. You will also be able to find plenty of uniform items. Look for items with free shipping and save even more. Craigslist.com is also a great place to look for clothing online, and since it is local you won’t need to pay shipping.
4. Use coupons and coupon codes!
Use coupons and pair them with sales to help you save. If you aren’t sure where to find them, check a store’s website, their Facebook page and/or sign up for their email newsletters which many times have coupons. If you are shopping online, check out Savings.com for coupon codes or just bookmark the coupon code page I have for you.
Tip: You can also get cash back on your online purchases by shopping through Ebates – you can get anywhere from 1%-20% cash back depending on the store!
5. Hit up fall garage sales.
Even in the fall months, garage sales can still be found. Check your local paper or Craigslist for sales in your area advertising children’s clothing. You may be able to find items for as low as a quarter. Good luck!
Give these couple of tricks a try and see how easy it can be to find quality back to school clothing for less. Whether you need shirts, pants, shoes, skirts, coats, or uniform pieces, chances are one of the ideas will net you some results!
