10 Back to School Lunches You Can Make in 10 Minutes or Less

For many, this is a stressful time as you are trying to figure out what to pack, how to make it interesting, and how to keep it frugal yet healthy. Packing a lunch for your child can turn into quite a challenge, one that leaves you feeling defeated as your child returns home each day with their lunch untouched. So what do you do? Sure there are tons of cute ideas on Pinterest about how you can jazz up your child’s lunch, but who has that kind of time? Instead, take it easy on yourself and just take a peek below where you will find 10 lunches you can make in 10 minutes or less. That’s right, in 10 minutes or less you can whip up a packed lunch that is fun, frugal, and even healthy.

10 Back to School Lunches You Can Make in 10 Minutes or Less:

1. Souper Shapes
Pour a can of low sodium soup in a heated thermos. Include a baggie of cheese slices as well as mini cookie cutters. Your child can cut shapes into the cheese before tossing them in to perk up his soup.

2. DIY Pizza Discs
Pack a half of a whole grain English muffin. Include a baggie of shredded cheese, turkey pepperoni, and a container of sauce if you wish. Your child will love making their own mini pizza for lunch.

3. Fruit Skewers
Chop assorted fruits and put them on a wooden skewer. Wrap the skewers in tinfoil for a fun and tropical lunch. You can also put cheese and turkey slices on the skewer for a breadless sandwich if you wish.

4. Banana Boats
Bananas can be topped with all sorts of things. Pack a banana as well as toppings such as yogurt, jelly, coconut, and other items that he or she can sprinkle on. Tasty and fun! Just be sure to pack a plate or bowl your child can create her magic in.

5. Walking Tacos
Pack a small bag of whole grain corn chips. Include a cup of chili, shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, and even a packet of sour cream if you wish. Your child can pour the ingredients over the chips and create a taco on the go.

6. Easy Peasy BLT
Pop a few pieces of turkey bacon in the microwave in the morning. Toast two pieces of wheat bread, pack some veggies slices, and your child has all of the making for a tasty and healthy BLT. Why not pack a pickle on the side?

7. Eggcellent Eggs
Hard boil eggs for your child and peel off the shells. This is something you can do the night before. Just pop an egg or two in their lunch whole along with some salt and pepper, or serve with a fruit and cheese assortment such as sliced apples and cheddar.

8. Centsible Salad
Fill a container with shredded lettuce. In a separate bag add cucumber slices, cherry tomatoes, and whatever other veggies you have. Include a dressing packet and your child is ready to make their own salad for lunch. You can even toss in any leftover turkey bacon from breakfast or hard boiled eggs.

9. Veggie Pizza
Spread cream cheese on top of a tostada shell. Sprinkle with chopped veggies and shredded cheese. Wrap in tinfoil and you have a tasty veggie pizza ready to dive into.

10. Zesty Rice
Take leftover rice from the previous night’s dinner and toss in canned chicken, shredded cheese, veggies, anything you wish. Add salt and pepper to taste. This rice mixture can be served cold or warm and makes a fun and filling lunch!
