I love watching shows that show people’s passion, drive and hard-work pay off. That is why I’m really looking forward to Lifetime’s new show: Supermarket Superstar. The show is a competition series (yes, I’m a sucker for these!) that will give every day Americans the chance to prove they have the next great product that consumers will love.  Hosted by Stacy Keibler, each episode will follow 3 home chefs as they pitch their new product concepts, in hopes that their creation is launched in a national grocery chain. The last cook standing will be rewarded $10,000 in prize money and $100,000 worth of product development to create professional samples of their products.

I find this show’s premise to be inspirational and motivating. As someone who started her own business and has persevered through the challenges and opportunities that it can bring – I have an immense amount of empathy for these individuals. For those with a dream, and the determination to pursue it, amazing obstacles can be overcome. Success is not about being lucky, but rather it is understanding your goals and knowing how to reach them. I always wanted to write and help others – years ago, I thought that meant I would be writing books – but technology has changed everything. Now, I’m able to help others from my own website, while I’m at home with my children. And my hard work also allowed me the opportunities to become a freelance writer for other websites, magazines, and newspapers. Owning my own business has opened more doors for me than I ever imagined, as I’m sure it will for these contestants.

I now truly understand what it means to “dream big”…

Have you ever dreamed of owning your own business? Or if you already do, what surprises have you found along your journey to fulfilling your dream?

Thanks to Lifetime, 2 lucky winners will win a $50 (AMEX) gift card. Enter below for your chance to win:
