Do you know what your credit score is? You should because your credit score can help you save money.  With good credit, you can qualify for special financing, reduced down payments or smaller monthly installments. When you are looking to get a car, a house, home or school loads, or borrow money or any other reason, your credit score makes a huge impact.

My husband and I have worked to keep our credit clean, so we can have the best credit scores possible. Paying bills on time and managing debt are important steps to good credit. It hasn’t always been easy, but we know that this is a huge step in financial success,  so we have made it a big priority.  One important part of having good credit is knowing what my credit score is, and this was very real for me as I contemplated buying a new car recently.

The great news is that you can visit freecreditscore.com to find tools that allow you to be smarter about understanding your credit. I really like their Score Planner tool, which allows members and non-members to estimate their future score by showing the impact of positive, negative, and neutral credit behaviors. This allows you to figure out how a new car, or buying a home, or paying off bills will affect your credit. You can plan your financial decisions better with this FREE planner – and since I am a HUGE planner, I love that!  It helped make my big decision easier, and it can do the same for you (Score Planner is free to everyone. Free score applies with enrollment in freecreditscore.com).

And if you like to win money or prizes (who doesn’t?), you’ll want to check out the “Make a better commercial than we did” Contest that freecreditscore.com is offering right now. You can suggest or create your own ending to their commercials and win up to $25,000 or some other great prizes.
