Kia Optima SX Review

photoMy family and I had the chance for a fun review over the holiday – we were checking out the Kia Optima SX. One of the first features that everyone in the family noticed and loved was the panoramic sliding sunroof (this is not in all models of the Optima). With the nice cool weather, we had the sunroof open, and since it opens over the backseat, too, the kids were in heaven, especially when planes went over head! photo

Inside, the Optima had plenty of fun options, like a push button start, bluetooth, power everything, Sirius, and my favorite – the rear camera to help you when you are backing out and make sure no little people (or toys) are behind you.  For colder weather, this SX model has front and rear seats – such a nice touch! I really liked that the driver seat had a cooled seat, too, although I didn’t use it much at this time of year. Another fun feature that my husband really enjoyed was the “driver’s seat memory”, so that the car seat would be exactly where each driver needs/wants it when they get in the car.

The Optima felt more sporty, and would be fun for individuals or those families of 4 or smaller. Although all 3 of my kiddos did fit in the backseat with their car seats and boosters, it was a tad cramped. For our sized family, the Kia Sorento would work better long term. The trunk had plenty of space for hauling items from shopping trips, diaper bags, strollers, backpacks, and all our other normal items.

This was a very fun car to drive, with plenty of power that was packed with extras. If you are looking for a mid-sized sedan, you’ll want to check this one out and also all the fun optional features that it can come with.

Disclosure: I was given a Kia Optima for a week to test drive and review. No compensation was given for this post, it was written 100% by me and not edited by Kia. Read more on my Disclosure page.
