able banking

Last week I told you about how ableBanking (a division of Northeast Bank) is a new online savings bank that has a goal of helping customers save in a truly different way. Not only can you save more with better rates and no fees, they also offer a service that is much different from from other banks. They help you give back where it matters most to you by giving to the charity of your choice.

New customers are able to choose a charity (501c3) that is important to them, and ableBanking will give $25 when they sign up. They also give an additional .25% of your average balance that year to your charity.

Some of their partner charities include Teach for America, The Greater Boston Food Bank and Rosie’s Place. But of course, if your favorite charity isn’t one of these, don’t worry because you pick who you want the money to go to. Just enter your zip code on ableBanking website to search for a list of charities in your community. You can then search by the type of cause to find a local charity that matters to you.

I love hearing about companies that give back, especially to the causes that I care about. I was glad to see that my son’s school was listed because it is very important to me to support the educational facility that my children go to. What charity will you choose?
