Have you heard of The Oogieloves yet? A new movie The Oogieloves in the BIG Balloon Adventure (due out “Oogust” 29th) is a film that “reinvents the movie-going experience”. This film – basically a movie and a live show rolled into one – is the first-of-its-kind interactive family musical that encourages the audience to get out of their seats, dance, and sing. Visual and auditory cues invite the audience to “move” the action along, allowing parents and kids to interact not only with the characters, but also with one another.

Nicole, content writer here at Saving Cents with Sense was able to go with her kids and here is her review:

I took my two youngest children to see The Oogieloves last Thursday and they had a blast.  This movie was definitely geared to their age group.  At three and five, I love taking them to see movies but, honestly, they don’t usually last the whole way through, at least, happily.

Not so with The Oogieloves.  This movie encouraged them to interact.  It taught songs and had them on their feet dancing throughout the entire movie.  Which after being hyped up on popcorn and soda is exactly what they wanted to do.  It was a really fun experience that they’d never had before.  It felt like we were mixing a PBS children’s show with the movie theater experience.  It was refreshing to be able to take them to a movie which was not above their heads, which didn’t include unnecessary violence or scariness like a lot of the ‘children’s’ movies that have been coming out.   Although the movie wasn’t exactly riveting for an adult viewer, the ability to observe my kids have fun at a movie and be allowed to be kids made it worth it.

You can check out this movie when it opens August 29. You can also check out the educational Parent Guide at Check for showtimes and theaters by you.
