progresso red pepper sauceWith back to school coming up, having meals that are easy and quick can be so important for a family (and a mom’s sanity!) So, I was excited to hear about the new Progresso frozen specialty sauces and pastas that are help make dinner a breeze. Add the sauces to your own favorite pasta, meat, or veggies – use one of the Progresso Pastas. The new sauces include:

  • Marsala Sauce:  A sweet and savory blend of mushrooms, garlic, onion and Marsala wine (don’t worry, the alcohol is cooked off so kids can enjoy it too!), Progresso™ Marsala Sauce is the perfect complement to chicken, potatoes, or pork.
  • Red Pepper Sauce: Light, creamy, and full of flavor, Progresso™ Red Pepper Sauce will quickly become a family favorite. This versatile sauce features piquant Fiona peppers imported from the Mediterranean and plays nice with pasta, grilled meats, and veggies.
  • White Wine Sauce:  Layers of perfectly balanced flavors come together in Progresso™ White Wine Sauce, a creamy, garlic-and-lemon-infused sauce that gives a light touch to almost any dish.

We tried the Red Pepper Sauce over sautéed veggies and chicken and it was so yummy! Plus, I really liked that it was a quick, easy, AND healthy meal.  My kids loved absolutely loved the Tri-Color Cheese Tortellini, too. The pastas available include:

  • Italian-Style Beef Ravioli: Enjoy home-style ravioli with hearty flavor and versatile preparations.
  • Tri-Color Cheese Tortellini: A rich, creamy blend of four premium Italian cheeses: ricotta, parmesan, Romano, and provolone.

One of the easiest meals I make using Progresso Lentil soup is to make spaghetti then drain it and put it in a bowl and add the heated Lentil soup over the top and mix. Serve with Italian bread and Italian grated cheese if you like.
