wedding ringHave you seen this amazing wedding proposal  yet? With over 10 million views on YouTube there is a chance that you have – and as amazing as it is, it begs the question, will simple proposals ever be good enough?

For Amy Frankel in Portland, OR, her dreams of a perfect engagement may very well have come true when her boyfriend set up a 5-minute, block-long choreographed with lip-syncing and dancing, wedding proposal. With over 60 friends and family in on the surprise performance, Frankel sat in the back of an open Honda CRV with headphones to listen to “Marry You” by Bruno Mars, while she watched her loved ones dance around her.

Not to feel outdone, her fiancé-to-be, Isaac Lamb, even brought in a marching band at one point in the routine. With the elaborate performance leading up to it, the actual proposal was sweet and simple, with the crowd parting and Lamb walking toward her. As the music faded, he said “You have already given me a lifetime of happiness…Will you let me spend the rest of my life trying to give you the same? Will you marry me?”

What gives this video an even bigger emotional punch is the second camera locked in on Frankel as she sees the entire routine. Her express, laughter, and gestures through it all are priceless.

Now, I can’t say that my engagement was that elaborate, or choreographed for that matter, but it is memorable for me. Quiet and intimate, my husband-to-be got down on one knee one night as we walked through a water garden in our city. Nervous, with shaking hands and a cracking voice, he asked me to marry him. It was just the two of us – and that was perfect for me, but that was a decade ago, and I’m a simple girl.

Lamb joked on NBC’s Today show saying, “Guys, I’m sorry”, laughing about how he has upped the stakes for every future wedding proposal. With over 8 millions views on YouTube, he just might be right.

What do you think? Is a simple bended-knee proposal good enough these days or should men start practicing their dance moves now?
