For those of you in Arizona, I have some shocking news regarding Fry’s coupon policy.

Fry’s announced in the Arizona Daily Star that they will be ending the “promotion of all manufacturer coupons equal $1 in the Sierra Vista, Yuma, Casa Grande and greater Tucson area Fry’s Stores beginning Wednesday, September 14

They also stated that these stores will “continue to accept manufacturer coupons at face value”, so I read that to mean that they will NOT be doubling coupons either.

You can visit the Fry’s Facebook page to see pictures of this ad from other shoppers.  Understandably, there are some pretty unhappy shoppers voicing their opinion there as well. I have to say, I am not happy to hear this news and hope this isn’t permanent. And I do think that this is an unfortunate consequence of the TLC Extreme Couponing show.

So, tell me, what do YOU think? Will you continue to shop at Fry’s?

Note:  I’m sorry I didn’t get this information to you earlier, but given that it is Sunday (and my birthday), I’ve been offline much of the day. Plus, Fry’s did not inform me of this change, as in the past when updates were made to the coupon policy.

I’ve noticed that in the recent weeks Fry’s has had less “free” items after coupons. Maybe it’s just me, but it sure seems like that. Also, my husband was rather up set that alot of the grocery prices had went up by at least .20 or so.

I just wanted to add a comment. I did most of my shopping at Fry’s specifically because their coupons made it so affordable. I kinda want to cry, actually. I have never gone “extreme” with coupons…however they were saving my family a lot of money, when we are on a budget. I may start buying more groceries at Wal-Mart. I can’t get everything I want there, but at least I can get the basics. I also really like the quality at Safeway, and they have a wider variety of generics, so I will probably “round out” my shopping there. :( Thanks for keeping us informed Melissa!!! :)

I have only been couponing for a few months, and I have never done anything too extreme, but even the moderate savings have meant a lot to my family. Originally because of things like the Fresh and Easy coupons, I have been doing the bulk of my shopping (especially full price items) at Fry’s. As of today, I will only be going to grab things that still make sense with sales and face value coupons. Safeway will get my business for now, and then I guess I will make the drive to the commissary. What a shame.

Do you have an Albertson’s by you, Tiffany? They have some pretty good deals this week (9/14) – I’ll be posting the match-ups in a few minutes…but I hope that helps.

I live in Tucson and switched from Safeway to Fry’s due to acceptance of competitor coupons and dollar coupons, I will go back to safeway as they have better quality and walmart, I will no longer shop at fry’s

i dont see this as the shows fault! There are MANY people that i know that dont even use any coupons! I agree that the Extreme Coupon show has opened the eyes of many out there to use coupons…however, many still do not. We need to stop blaming the show for changes in policy! Stores have changed thier policies back and forth for years now! I used to coupon back in New England…and got away from it as i didn’t have the time..but with my husband out of work for a year and a half, i have gone back to it! There are still weeks when this couponer…doen’t make the time to clip, so sorry….However, i am teaching others to coupon now and it makes for great girl time…..we save about 50% – 70% on our groceries and that is fine with us!
