The latest installment of Veggie Tales is The Princess and the Popstar. It’s a really cute movie that teaches children a valuable lesson about appreciating the life that you have been given.
Here’s a summary of the movie:
Princess Poppyseed’s life on her family’s farm is far from the glamorous but lonely world of her favorite pop singer Vanna Banana. On a chance meeting at a playground, Vana and Princess cross paths and discover they look almost exactly alike – which leads to a crazy secret plan where they decide to switch lives! As each girl realizes that the life they longed for doesn’t fulfill all their dreams, they learn the life God gave them is the one for which they were uniquely and lovingly designed.
My 4 year old son didn’t want to watch this movie at first because it is “girly”, but we convinced him to watch it. He really enjoyed it, and as soon as it was over said “Mom, can I watch it again?” I love that he is not only enjoying a cute movie, but is also learning the valuable lesson that life is best when we appreciate who God created us to be. And it can be enjoyed by boys & girls alike!
