“ExtremeIt’s BAAaack! Yep, that’s right, TLC is bringing Extreme Couponing back with Season 2 on September 28 at 10pm. This season will have 12 episodes of “innovative/scarily compulsive coupon-cutting obsessiveness”. Does that sound appealing?

Well, I have to say, I just can’t watch– it would be like nails on a chalk board for me because these cases are just so “extreme” they aren’t realistic.

Of course I think you can save a lot on your grocery bill, but realistically, your goal should be to save between 40%-60%. Is couponing difficult? No, it isn’t and you can learn more basics in my Where to Begin post. Using coupons can help you save money on your grocery bill, you don’t have to spend 4-6 hours a day planning a grocery trip.  And your entire life does not need to revolve around coupons.

Here are some ways to help you start your couponing journey to save money and time:

I’ve never seen the show. Really! I have made a few really MAJOR savings using my “couponing skills.”… but I do not expect to ever walk off with the store owing me $$$$…

I did watch the show. That is why I started couponing, but I knew I would not be saving THAT kind of money. I figure if I can save 50% on average, that is pretty good. I will probably watch the 2nd season. I don’t watch much tv and I find it entertaining, if nothing else!
