If you are trying to buy organic food as much as possible, then you’ll want to check out the new 2011 EWG’s Shopper’s Guide to Pesticides with the Dirty Dozen and Clean 15.
What is the “Dirty Dozen”? It is a list of the 12 most contaminated fruits and vegetables.
“EWG research has found that people who eat the 12 most contaminated fruits and vegetables consume an average of 10 pesticides a day.”
The new Dirty Dozen includes:
Apples
Celery
Strawberries
Peaches
Spinach
You can view the rest of the list HERE, as well as check out what is on the Clean 15 list. The biggest change to me is that apples are now #1 on the list of the Dirty Dozen, which is very important to know since my kids love apples.
