baking soda I mentioned recently that making your own household cleaners can help you save money, be eco-friendly, and keep toxic chemicals from your home. Another great product to use in cleaning around the home is baking soda.

Baking Soda is also a great household cleaner because it deodorizes and cleans, plus, the best benefit is that it is cheap. Some ways to clean with baking soda include:

  • Sprinkle it on the carpet to neutralize odors before vacuuming.
  • Keep an open box in the refrigerator to keep it smelling fresh (replace every 3 months).
  • Pour baking soda down your garbage disposal while running warm water to keep it smelling fresh.
  • It also works great at deodorizing garbage cans, diaper pails, laundry baskets or litter boxes.
  • Create a scouring paste with baking soda and vinegar to clean your kitchen sink and counters.

Did you know you can even use baking soda in your at home facials? How else do you use baking soda to clean around the house?
