Have you ever seen a gigantic Japanese spider crab? They are the largest arthropod ever with leg spans of 15 feet across! Definitely not something I want to run into in the wild, but I was excited to get to see one up close and personal at the new Sea Life Arizona Claws Exhibit (and of course my boys were, too!).
If you haven’t been to Sea Life AZ yet, you’ll want to check it out – especially as temperatures are getting hotter and you are looking for something fun (and educational) for the kids. There are many attractions with over 5,000 sea creatures and a lot of hands-on activities for kids, including this new Claws Exhibit.
My son loved roaming around the new exhibit and thought it was “cool” that he could look under the tanks of many of the crabs and lobsters (and some of the tanks have even sprouted “claws” themselves!). Like other exhibits at Sea Life, there are plenty of interactive features, like a touch display that allows guests to feel the different textures of crabs.
Sea Life Arizona is perfect for kids because many of the activities, looking holes and more are just at a child’s height. If you are thinking of visiting AZ, it is definitely worth a visit and if you live here, then you might want to look into a membership to save on cost.
