Congratulations to winner #382 – Karen!

I’m really excited to have the opportunity to do a product review, especially for an infant car seat since I am expecting baby #2. (Yes, Melissa and I are both having babies, and we’re both due in June! So exciting!) Here is more on the Safety 1st onBoard 35 infant car seat.

“Featuring 17% more leg room than most infant car seats and a harness specially designed to fit tiny travelers, the onBoard35 Infant Car Seat easily accommodates the growing baby in a rear-facing position from a tiny 4 to a tall 35 pounds. Our Carry Curve™ handle makes for comfortable transport between the car and wherever you need to go!”

My first impression when I pulled the seat out of the box, was how much more padding and cushioning it has than our previous seat had. I love the extra side impact cushioning around where baby’s head and body will be . The second thing I noticed is how roomy and spacious it is. I love that this seat is able to accommodate anywhere from a tiny 4 pound preemie, all the way up to your 35 pound “big kid”.  I think it is important to leave your child rear-facing as long as possible, and this car seat should make that possible.

My husband and I “played” with the seat for quite awhile. We both were impressed with the ease of using the buckles, and yet how strong and sturdy they feel. The straps also adjust very easily with just a pull of the strap between baby’s legs so you are able to loosen them to get baby in and out easily, but tighten them down to keep baby safe and snug. The base is strong and sturdy safety1st carseat2and the seat snaps easily in and out of it. There is also a bubble level indicator on the side so you can easily make sure that baby is positioned correctly based upon his/her weight.

Overall, we are extremely pleased with this car seat and very excited to use it. I  would say the only downfall of it is the sun shade. It sticks when you try to open or close it and easily gets in the way when moving the seat handle up and down. I think this is a pretty minor complaint compared to all of the positive features that the seat offers.

You can buy the Safety 1st onBoard 35 infant car seat at Target and Amazon.

what i look for in a great car seat is
1.Head support: Since babies have such weak neck muscles it’s important to get a car seat with good head support
2.Side impact protection: We can never predict the future or when an accident is about to happen. It contains the head and body and makes sure your little one doesn’t move side to side which can hurt their neck and injure them.
    3.And more important is safety
