We love to decorate our house with lights at Christmas, but unless you are the Griswold’s, you don’t have to have to cover every square inch. Cutting down on the amount of lights and other displays outside can add up to big savings. Or if you like the big display, just light it up for a shorter time each night to save on electricity.
Since we have lights outside, we have a timer set each night so we know how long the lights will stay on. This helps us in case we forget to turn the lights off (which happened in previous years). Watching how many lights you use, and for how long they are on, will help save your electricity and your bill!
