image Of course I love the decorate our Christmas tree, but I also know that decorations and ornaments can be costly, so when you are looking for ways to save this holiday season, my Tip #4 for Saving is to Decorate Your Tree The Old Fashioned Way.

Pop some popcorn and string it up, make construction paper streamers, make paper snowflakes, and let your imagination soar. This is a great area for kids to get involved and showcase their talents. This is a perfect way to let your kids get involved and enjoy decorating!

What are some other do-it-yourself ornaments that you enjoy?

Applesauce and cinnamon ornaments, origami birds, shrinky-dink ornaments are all easy and frugal, and great fun for the kids, too!

We like to cut up old Christmas cards into fun shapes, put a bit of glitter on them and hang them up. We often get those packs of sample cards in the mail and use them to help decorate the tree as well. My 3 yr old had a blast this evening cutting away at cards!

Another fun way to make bulbs is to use old light bulbs. Paint them up nice, wrap a string around the edge and hang them up!
