Shopping online has become very routine. Whether it’s clothing, toys, shoes or electronics it seems like the first place we head is to the internet. In search of information and deals, we start typing away and clicking on every site possible.
Usually, Melissa here at Saving Cents with Sense, will lead you to all the best deals so you only have to make one stop. But, sometimes you’re looking for something specific or need a gift for your nephew Phillip in Piscataway. Are you resigned to paying full retail? Of course not! The frugalista will never pay full price if she can help it.
Shopping online has become so easy, but finding ways to save still seems to be a bit more elusive. Until now! Here are 3 ways you can save almost every time you get online to make a purchase.
1. Use a Rebate site such as Shop At Home, Ebates or Cashbaq – Each of these sites let you shop a variety of stores and get money back when you buy your items. It’s like getting free money!
2. Check prices at comparison shopping websites such as Shopzilla, NexTag, Bizrate or Pricegrabber – comparison shopping will reveal not only price difference but also shipping costs which often eat up the budget.
3. Use a coupon code – As you know from reading this site, many sites offer discount or coupon codes to their customers. Some are unique and are emailed out, so if you shop a certain store often sign up for their email newsletter for possible savings. For those times when you don’t immediately have a code, head to your search engine and type in the store name followed by the word ‘coupon’ or ‘code’. You will likely find several sites that aggregate coupon codes, such as RetailMeNot, Coupon Cabin, or Coupon Mountain, and you’ll find one that works.
