Back to School shopping includes more than just new pencils and notebooks. It also means helping students “reinvent” their image for the new year. Did you know that most kids start braces anywhere between 11-14 (but begin consulting with the dentist as early as 8)?

But braces can make kids feel self-conscious (and uncomfortable), so why not look for a choice that can help boost your teens self-esteem, while helping them develop strong healthy teeth. Invisalign Teen, which is developed by leading orthodontists,  is a perfect choice since it gradually straightens teeth without any metal or wires. Plus, it is about the same cost as regular metal braces!

Why Do Teens Love Invisalign?

Photobucket

1. It fits their active lifestyles.
Since Invisalign is comfortable and durable, it is easy for teens to continue their favorite activities such as playing sports and musical instruments – activities that can be challenging or uncomfortable with traditional metal braces. Photobucket

2. It looks great.
Invisalign’s near-invisibility is still one of the most popular features for teens; treatment is very inconspicuous, making it easier for teens to “fit in” rather than call attention to their treatment.

3. It’s removable.
Since teens can take the aligners out to brush and floss, they can maintain normal, healthy hygiene during treatment. Plus, they can eat what they want – no forbidden foods!

4. It’s comfortable.
Invisalign is made of lightweight plastic that is custom-fitted to each patient’s teeth. There are no wires or uncomfortable metal brackets poking or tearing their mouths or gums.

5. It’s innovative and it works.
Invisalign Teen solves an age-old problem with a new technology and a fresh approach.  Like traditional braces, Invisalign Teen effectively straightens teeth.

Although my boys aren’t old enough for braces yet, after reading about Invisalign Teen, I would definitely choose this product for them since I love the flexibility it offers.

  • Kelly B

My Daughter had an accident on a four-wheeler April 3rd, she is 16. Before that, she had a beautiful smile. Now she is missing 4 1/2 teeth on her left side of her mouth. Our insurance won’t pay for them to be replaced and her upper teeth are shifting to fill in the empty gaps. It wouldn’t be so bad but she is missing the front tooth on back. She really needs help. I hope Invisalign could help.

I help my toddler daughter have good teeth and gums by first letting her brush her teeth (with guidance) and then me brushing her teeth too. I explain what I am doing and make it fun, rather than a chore. She doesn’t understand yet why this is so important, but I’m sure she’ll begin to understand soon.

  • Tabitha K

    Brush twice a day

  • Ashley Taylor

My parents couldn’t afford dental visits unless they were EMERGENCIES because we didn’t have dental insurance… so I never had cleanings, etc. until I was an adult! My kids go every 6 months religiously and they have great teeth so far (In fact our dentist is so awesome, my kids ask me if we can please go to the dentist!!) Coming from a mom who was always terrified of the dentist (I only went for shots and fillings :( ) that is SUCH a relief and I owe him big time!

  • meeyeehere

If at the end of the month she had the whole month filled, she got to choose going to a movie, the zoo or somewhere else she really wanted to go.

Traditional flossing wasn’t happening, so we decided to try a WaterPik to help our kids have healthy teeth and oral hygiene. Results: I’m not entirely sure why the kids have been so receptive to this, but dentists should be handing these out instead of string floss!
