I was a tad nervous to leave the gardens this weekend while we were on vacation. Of course, it was only 3 days, but even still, that timeframe could be disastrous if something went wrong. The good news is that my hubby finished installing the watering system before we left, so the garden could be self-sufficient while we were gone.
Still- I couldn’t help but worry if something would go wrong…
Not only was the garden fine, but it also had a few surprises for me: ripe cherry tomatoes, a few onions, and best of all – more zucchini! That shouldn’t have surprised me, but what the shocking part was the size of those zucchini!
My son was especially proud of them (as you can tell) and he could barely hold just 2 of the 3 we picked. All 3 are about 12 inches long and extremely wide. The only ruler I could find in the house was 6 inches, so you have to imagine it twice as long, but I think you get the picture…
So, what do you think? Did my garden survive my mini vacation? :)
Besides the large zucchini, we have strawberries growing and new baby watermelons have formed. The watermelon plant is growing like crazy, which you can see in this video:
Now, it’s your turn, what surprises are you finding in your garden? What is growing and starting to produce? If you have a blog, link up your blog post with Mr.Linky. If not, leave a comment- I’d love to hear how your garden is growing!
