As you can see, we started to use my son’s basket to collect our veggies. In this haul, we were able to pick approximately a dozen jalapenos, 2 zucchini, 1 pickling cucumber, 3 onions, 10-15 cherry tomatoes, and a few strawberries.
Our watermelon are really growing – remember what last week’s update looked like? Ok, so now, check out how much it grew in a week (9 days exactly):
I’m not exactly sure how I’ll know the watermelon is ripe? Any suggestions? At this rate of growth, I think I need to figure it out soon!
And my pickling cucumbers are starting to come in. This is 1 of 5 that I found this size and there are a TON of baby cucumbers coming in. Soon I’ll be making pickles! I really like the size of this plant better than the big cucumbers. It still spreads out, but isn’t taking over the entire garden.
My large tomatoes are starting to turn red. I was able to pick 2 last night and you can see that several more will be ready soon. And if you are growing zucchinis, make sure you check out all the wonderful recipes that were suggested…I’m looking forward to trying some (or all!)
Now, it’s your turn, what surprises are you finding in your garden? What is growing and starting to produce? If you have a blog, link up your blog post with Mr.Linky. If not, leave a comment- I’d love to hear how your garden is growing!
