I love to read and know how important reading can be to a young mind, so I am happy to see Summer Reading programs, like the Border’s Double Dog Dare program. If you have children 12 and younger, you’ll want to check this out.

Kids read any 10 books, fill out the Double-Dog Dare you form with the books listed, and take it into any Borders to receive a FREE book. No purchase is necessary, just make sure you take the form in by 8/26/10. (Thanks, Saving For Someday!)

Do you know of any more Summer Reading Programs? I’d love to create a list for us all to reference.

Barnes & Nobles has a similar program they have been doing for years. The theme this year is “The 39 Clues” and the kids complete their passport of required reading and they get to select a book from the list once they have turned in their passport.

Paula, I saw the summer reading program you were talking about at Barnes & Noble. Such a great promotion, it’s good to see the big companies getting involved with kids.
