We have just started this year a composting bin that our city provides upon request. They are from old city trash cans, so we are recycling while we compost. My kids love it as well.

I have tried really hard to cut out the use of ziplock style bags in our house we use small containers, etc instead, it’s harder than you think

We recycle, bring our own shopping bags, use CFL bulbs (recycle them if they do burn out), walk the kids to school, try to buy products in recyclable containers, stopped using ziploc bags like Vickie, and so many more things. Even doing just one of them helps!

I’ve used cloth diapers for my daughter since the day she was born! We also cut out using paper plates and we try not to use paper towels. Instead we try to use towels/dish rags.

I have dramatically reduced the amount of paper towels I use.

I have also reduced the amount of paper towels that my family uses. Drastically reduced!!!!! Also make a lot of my cleaning products. Thanks, Tammy gordonfan@embarqmail.com

We just started kitchen composting a couple weeks ago ~ love it!

I walk to school and reuse my grocery bags!

ive been recycling alot lately!

I use my own shopping bag and recycle.

We make our life greener by regularly recycling everything possible. We also use CFLs, Energy Star appliances, and reusable shopping bags. We combine driving trips to save mileage — and turn things like lights off when not in use. *Thanks* for the giveaway!

I drink water from a stainless steel canteen and no longer buy bottled water.

I carry my groceries in cloth tote bags.

I like to use reusable bags, in lieu of paper or plastic. I also use snack and sandwich bags that are reusable, I use green laundry detergent & cleaning products whenever I can and recycle as much as I can.

I bike to work, instead of driving.

we have started recycling more. we are reusing items for other things when we can. changed out light bulbs. and are making sure we have things cut off when we are done with them and unplugging things.mavans@scottsboro.org

We use reusable bags and use paper towel that’s made from recylced paper.

I would plant a garden instead of using the gas to go to the store and the packaging that fresh produce comes in. I will also watch my water consuption. Little steps! :)

I believe in God’s green earth!

My family tries to be conscious of ways to be “green”, from recycling, using cloth towels and napkins, to reducing water usage and cutting down on power usage. We are just beginning to prepare a garden box in our community garden, which has been a yearly spring tradition.

I always use reusable grocery bags!

We have a goat that “mows” our back yard! (I realize not everyone can do this, but we live in a rural area.)

We use less water by the rule, ” When it’s yellow let it mellow, when it’s brown flush it down”. We warm up our water only by having a gallon jug to catch the cold water, so when the water is the desired temperture the water that would have gone down the drain can be used to water plants, rinse a milk glass or put the water in the animals water bowls. We use cloth bags instead of plastic at all stores we shop and always recycle all that we can at curb side service. Plus we give all our gently used goods to ARC or KIDS or Parker Task Force.

I am using reusable bags for groceries and other purchases and we planted a garden.
