Nothing is more frustrating than finding the coupon you are looking for and not being able to print it. I’ve had some readers ask about why certain coupons don’t print, and so I researched some answers for you.
If you are having trouble with Bricks Coupons (which is usually the troublesome ones), here are a few tips:
- Check your browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari)
- Check the URL to make sure it is compatible with your browser
Here is an Example Firefox Link:
http://bricks.coupons.com/Start.asp?tqnm=qinjblu9829492&bt=vg&o=57463&c=HG&p=7gaQhPFm
The “vg” that I highlighted in the URL above tells you that this is a Firefox link.
If you use Internet Explorer: Change the letters to “wi” or “vi”
If you use Firefox: Change the letters to “wg” or “vg”
If you use Safari: Change the letters to “vi” or “xs”
Honestly, it may be different at some points, so you’ll just want to try the different options and see what will work. I’ve found that it helps to copy the URL, paste it in a Word document (or equivalent), change the letters, and then paste it back into the address bar. (Thanks, Shannon!)
Problems with Coupons.com? From their website, here are the compatible operating systems and browsers:
Coupon printing is currently supported on Windows Operating Systems Vista, XP, and 2000 when used with Internet Explorer 6+, FireFox 1+, Netscape 8+, and most MSN and AOL browsers.
If you are unable to print when using an MSN, AOL, or Compuserve browser, please try printing your coupon using Internet Explorer 6+.
Coupon printing is currently supported on Macintosh OSX 10.3 or higher when used with Safari 2+ and FireFox 2+.
Sometimes I’ve noticed that you need to refresh Coupons.com if it gets stuck or just print from the widget in my sidebar. Also, you can only print a coupon 2 times, so check to see if you have hit the print limit.
Do you have other tips that you have found useful in printing online coupons?
