I am so excited that I not only met my goal of saving 70% at the Fry’s (Kroger) Mega Sales Event, I EXCEEDED it! As many of you know, I was given a $30 Kroger gift card from  General Mills, PepsiCo, and MyBlogSpark and challenged to see how much I could save during this promotion.

The goal I set for myself was to save at least 70% since I normally save around 65%, but the sale was just so good! I bought 51 items, so I won’t list them all (and you can see them in the picture above), but make sure you check out my Fry’s Weekly Deals post to find all the coupon match-ups.

I saved $107.61 and spent only $29.15 (I was under the $30!) This was such a blessing since our stockpile was running a little low. I was even able to purchase a few items, like canned vegetables and Pepsi, that I didn’t have coupons for, but were part of the Mega Sales Event.

There were a few unadvertised deals in the Mega Sales Event that I want to let you know about:

Hamburger Helper, selected varieties, only $.45!
-$.75/3 (8/9 SS)
=$.12 each after coupon

Yoplait Delights $1.45 (clearanced, so it may depend on your store)
-$1.25/1 printable
=$.20 each after coupon!

Chex Mix Bars $1.88
-$.60/1 printable (coupons.com)
=$.88 each after coupon

UPDATE: I forgot to add that when you buy 3 Betty Crocker fruit snacks you’ll get a $1.50 catalina, Buy 5 or more and you get $3.50. (Thanks, A Cheap Chick!)

Would you like a chance to see how much you could save at the Kroger Mega Sales Event? Let me know on the Giveaway Post and be entered to win a $30 Kroger Gift Card!

Wow! Mega-impressed! Kudos on your shopping. I was impressed, too, by the pricey items you got! These deals aren’t matching up at Ralphs (Kroger owned) this week in California, but like I said, you deserve to be applauded to show how you matched up coupon and special items!

I did pretty good considering some of the items I purchased weren’t on the sale.

I purchased $52 dollars of groceries for $21 for a 58% savings. Some items ended up being free such as the refried beans!

Wow, I’d say that is pretty good! Great job and thanks for sharing!

Thank you, Harry! Bummer that they aren’t the same at Ralphs- but the Mega Sales Event is still on there right?

I just checked, and they do have the same event going on, but the prices are not as good as you noted. For example, with the $5 cash back, the Hamburger Helper is 99 cents, and then with the 75 cent coupon doubled to $1 it’s 66 cents a box. But you know, that still ain’t bad at all. … I tried to do the coupon matchups last night on Couponmom.com, and I just wasn’t coming away with a lot (or big enough savings). … And I would have been proud, too, at 70 percent off. I average between 58 to 65 percent off, too, so those 70 percent off trips are Red Letter Days. :-)
