IMG_5678 What isn’t to love about San Diego? The perfect weather, ocean mist, sandy beaches, and plenty of family fun. What makes a stay even better? A good hotel!

The Country Inns & Suites in San Diego was a wonderful place to stay away from home. From the minute we arrived, we received exceptional customer service. The front desk was pleasant and quick, which I really appreciated after driving 6 hours with two young boys.

We were also welcomed with a basket in our room with snacks, a few drinks, and a nice letter from the hotel manager! We arrived at night, so after some quick unpacking we settled down in the comfy beds.

The best feature of the hotel room was that it was a suite, with a separate room. The main bedroom was separated with double doors, so the kids could go to sleep in their own room on the pull out sofa bed. Our room also came with a mini refrigerator and microwave, two needed amenities for a family with young children!

IMG_5681 One feature of a hotel that can help cut down your overall vacation cost is a FREE Breakfast, and the breakfast at Country Inns & Suites is much more than your average continental breakfast! Fresh waffles, muffins, bagels, toast, eggs, bacon, potatoes, cereal, juice and coffee await you when you stay at Country Inns & Suites!

IMG_5680 There were a few other features that I was impressed with including the pool, hot tub, Read It & Return Lending Library (When have you seen a library at a hotel? That is a great feature!), and warm cookies each evening. That was definitely a hit with my boys!

IMG_5683 We had a wonderful time in San Diego, and especially at the Country Inns & Suites! If you haven’t looked at the destinations in their Hit the Road Country Promotion yet, I definitely recommend it! Not only are there great locations with special deals, but they also recommend fun family friendly itineraries.

Thank you Country Inns & Suites for giving us the free stay!

Stay tuned- I’m working on another post with some great Fun and Frugal Vacation ideas (and some more fun pictures of our trip!)

Gotta love San Diego — that’s why I live here. Hope you “Zonies” had a fun time. :-) … BTW, I have become quite adept at packing snacks, etc when we go to a hotel … makes for a quick bite to save you some money if you plan on going to dinner later, etc. Saves some money, as I am sure the breakfast does, too.

You are so right! We packed plenty of snacks, which really saved us on the eating out cost. Getting a free breakfast, which was quite filling, and then snacking until dinner- we only paid to eat out once a day! And, of course, I used coupons and gift certificates from Restaurants.com to cut that down! :)
