I’ve been asked several times if I’m going to Blogher ‘09 this weekend. The official answer is No.
Not that I wouldn’t want to meet all the fabulous bloggers that are attending, get lots of fun swag, or party ‘til dawn… BUT, after looking into airfare from Phoenix to Chicago, hotel rates, cabs, and even the ticket itself, I decided it would be best to stay home this time.
So, now the official Top 10 Reasons I am Excited to Stay Home with My Family this Coming Weekend:
10. I get to party at the Non Blogher Party on Friday Night! 
9. I’ll finally get to check out Cozi.com and get organized (seriously, I’m excited about the Mobile access feature!)
8. I can work on my posts, magazine articles, and the fun giveaways I have coming up!
7. Instead of being cooped up inside, with rain in Chicago, I’ll be floating in my pool, sipping a fun drink with an umbrella!
6. I’m going to Christmas in July at Toys R Us, which is great timing since my 3 (almost 4) year old only wants to watch Frosty the Snowman and read A Christmas Story (Mickey version) every night.
5. I can read a story to my boys every night, tuck them into bed, and see their smiling faces in the morning.
4. I don’t have to worry about what to wear, if I need a pedicure, or if I lost all the baby weight.
3. Saturday Morning Pancakes! Our family makes pancakes each Saturday, and after all the deals on blueberries recently, I know we’ll be having some light & fluffy Blueberry Pancakes!
2. I get to stay with my wonderful hubby and precious 2 boys, seriously, who could resist these faces?
1. I’m Saving Money! (No need to buy new clothes, pay travel expenses, go out to eat, or do any of the other things easy to do when you travel to a conference)

It is a lot more relaxing to stay home with family and have a nice weekend. Besides, that is a lot of money to spend!
The pool sounds like a great idea. To bad her in the mid west, personal pools are hard to come by.

I LOVE your reasons!! It would be nice to be there, but it ends up costing alot to attend such functions. And, you are so right ~ with 3 totally adorable boys at home, who would want to leave – even for the weekend!
