Who doesn’t like pictures, especially for special occasions like birthdays, Christmas or baby showers? Here’s a great gift idea: a personalized picture frame, which is easy and inexpensive to make, too.
I made this frame above for a family member, who is having a baby boy. I was able to pick up all the supplies needed at Michaels (but I’m sure they are available at any craft store). I was surprised at how much fun I had creating the frame, and how cheap it was since baby frames at Target start close to $20.
Here’s how I did it:
Materials:
Wood Frame $1
Paint $.50
Elephant and Family addition: $1 each
Wooden Baby Stickers: $2.50 (but there are plenty to use for other frames as well)
Brush (already had)
I painted the frame, let it dry, and hot glued the words and pictures on to it. Simple as that!
Here’s another frame that my mom made for Christmas. Simple, but personal and sweet. It would also be easy to add writing with puffy paint (the year, names, etc) to give an even more personal touch.
Believe me, I’m not a very artistic person, but there are so many materials that you can get at the craft store to make yourself that are easy- AND you can save on gifts by giving something with a personal touch!
Craft projects make great activities for kids, too, especially on a HOT summer day (and we have had many of those lately). If you are heading to Michael’s, make sure you take this 50% off any 1 item coupon.
So, what kind of craft projects have you made? I know you all have some great ideas…
