Bargain Meal of the Week

I am excited to start a new weekly post here at Saving Cents with Sense- I will be contributing to the Bargain Meal of the Week at $5 Dinners! Each week, after I have posted the Weekly Deals at Fry’s, I’ll post a Bargain Meal. If you are visiting from $5 Dinners, Welcome!, and I hope you enjoy the meal I have planned.

To see the the Fry’s deals and coupon match-ups, go Here.

Easy Creamy Chicken

4 Fresh Boneless, skinless Chicken Breast or Tenders ($2.49 lb)
1 Can of Campbell’s Condensed Cream of Mushroom soup ($.50)

Heat chicken in oil or cooking spray (assume you already have this) in skillet over medium-high heat for 10 minutes (or until chicken is browned). Drain chicken and set aside. Add soup and 1/2 cup water to skillet, heat to a boil, add chicken and cook covered until chicken is done (5 minutes)

Sides:
Red potatoes ($.69 lb)
1 bag Dole Classic Salad ($1)
Roma Tomatoes ($1 lb)

Total Cost: $5.68

We make this one!! It is great for saving money and it is tasty!

  • The Sensible Momma

Definitely- and it is nice that it is a flexible meal, too. You can use cream of mushroom or chicken or even celery. Add any veggies you have on hand and rice if it is on sale. I just picked the good deals this week, but I love the versatility of this meal!

  • Teri

I add herbs to the soup mixture (and milk instead of water for added calcium) & then serve it over rice! delicious!
